Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the physics department, we are seeking a skilled Radiation Dosimetrist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for image fusion, treatment planning, calculations, secondary calculation checks, planning quality assurance, and consultation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical dosimetry and experience working with radiation therapy equipment. They will be able to collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to calculate and deliver precise radiation doses to treat tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues.

Responsibilities
  • Design patient treatment plans and prepare dose calculations using computers, calculators, and manual techniques for external beam treatment planning.
  • Consult with physicians and therapists to ensure the accuracy of patient information and dose calculations.
  • Collaborate with radiation therapy staff to assess and improve patient treatments and/or set-up techniques.
  • Share results and recommendations with their supervisor, as appropriate.
  • Assist radiation therapists with patient set-up procedures at treatment machine and/or simulator as needed.
  • Complete proper records, patient data forms, planning documents, and billing information logs.
  • Perform checks on patient charts for accuracy and proper documentation according to established procedures.
  • Monitor and adhere to general radiation safety guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical research and quality improvement processes, as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) or eligible after completion of JRCERT accredited program in Medical Dosimetry.
