LifeMoves is a leading provider of shelter and supportive services in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Peninsula. Our mission is to provide interim housing and supportive services that create opportunities for homeless families and individuals to rapidly return to stable housing and long-term self-sufficiency.
About the RoleThe Operations & Services Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Program Director and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Mountain View Homekey shelter. This position is responsible for developing and implementing schedules for staff, providing ongoing guidance and supervision, overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of the shelter facilities, and coordinating with maintenance staff to address repair needs promptly.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Scheduling: Develop and implement a schedule for staff to ensure adequate coverage for client needs and program activities.
- Staff Supervision: Provide ongoing guidance and supervision to staff, identifying their development needs and arranging training opportunities.
- Facility Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the shelter facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment for clients and staff.
- Security Protocols: Oversee security protocols and implement measures to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Program Director to plan and facilitate case management, shelter supervisor, and staff meetings.
- Community Partnerships: Partner with community service providers to connect clients with additional resources.
- Data Collection: Oversee the collection and compilation of client data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Program Director.
- Program Development: Assist with program development and implementation initiatives.
- Caseload Management: May also maintain a caseload of clients, providing support and guidance in areas like housing search, financial workshops, and conflict resolution.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience working with homeless populations, ideally in a case management setting.
- Skills: Strong case management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Supervision: Ability to supervise and mentor staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Computer Applications: Proficient in computer applications relevant to case management and reporting.
- Cultural Competence: Deep understanding of the challenges faced by homeless populations, including mental health issues, substance abuse, and domestic violence.
- Commitment: Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a willingness to learn and grow in this area.
- Availability: Available to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Language: Bilingual Spanish speaking a plus.
