The Opportunity:

Hillel International is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer. This position is pivotal in guiding the organization towards its next phase of growth and success. As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for redefining the engagement model for students, fostering strong relationships with university administrations, and leading fundraising initiatives for future projects.

In this influential role, you will act as the guiding force for the organization, managing a committed team and overseeing a substantial budget. The ideal candidate will be passionate about enhancing the experience of Jewish students and will have a proven track record in leadership within a nonprofit or educational setting. This is a unique opportunity to create a lasting impact on the lives of students and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
  • Direct the organization in fulfilling its mission and strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a community leader, fostering unity and collaboration.
  • Encourage diverse and inclusive Jewish life on campus.
  • Formulate strategies to broaden the Jewish student base, catering to various backgrounds and interests.
  • Integrate Jewish values and teachings into the organization’s operations.
Fundraising & Financial Oversight:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy leveraging community networks.
  • Engage directly with major donors and grant-making organizations to secure funding.
  • Ensure financial resources align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Manage budgeting, financial forecasting, and compliance with audits.
Team Development & Management:
  • Mentor and support staff and student leaders, promoting professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively to enhance team performance.
Community Relations & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain relationships with university officials and community leaders.
  • Collaborate with campus organizations to enhance Jewish life and education.
  • Encourage board engagement and cultivate future leaders.
Student Engagement & Jewish Identity:
  • Act as a role model for students, inspiring their connection to Jewish life.
  • Create enriching educational and social opportunities for students.
  • Ensure an inclusive environment where all Jewish students feel valued.
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of students and the campus climate.
Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within a nonprofit or educational context.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degrees or Rabbinic ordination are preferred.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and financial management.
