Laboratory Research Associate

The Laboratory Research Associate will play a crucial role in executing and supporting in vivo small animal studies under the guidance of the Principal Investigator or a senior researcher. This role demands exceptional organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, precise record-keeping, and effective communication skills. In addition to conducting experiments, the associate will oversee general laboratory upkeep, which includes managing orders and inventory, preparing standard reagents, and maintaining lab protocols and safety documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of six months of experience in scientific research. Familiarity with various laboratory equipment is essential, as is a high degree of accuracy in material preparation and data recording. The position may involve working with hazardous materials and equipment under standard laboratory conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
A recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Neuroscience or a related field such as biology or biochemistry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of experiments and address research challenges in areas such as physiology, microbiology, tissue culture, and chemistry by performing basic and routine procedures as directed by the supervisor.
- Set up and/or operate various laboratory instruments and apparatus.
- Document results in accordance with established protocols, discussing findings with the supervisor and adjusting procedures as necessary.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
