ROLE OVERVIEW


The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in the restaurant's operations, overseeing team members and ensuring that all tasks are executed efficiently. This position requires a focus on guest satisfaction, food preparation, cleanliness, and effective teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The Shift Leader will:

  • Maintain a high-speed service environment while addressing guest inquiries and concerns.
  • Implement safety and security protocols diligently.
  • Guide team members through the DHC Training Program to enhance their skills and responsibilities.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding training needs and performance improvements.
  • Understand the impact of each role on guest experience and overall restaurant functionality.
  • Welcome guests, take orders, and serve food and beverages with a consistently positive demeanor.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to prepare menu items while adhering to cooking guidelines and safety standards.
  • Utilize kitchen equipment effectively, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES


The Shift Leader will also:

  • Address guest complaints professionally and resolve issues in line with restaurant policies.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the uniform policy.
  • Be performance-oriented, understanding expectations and striving to meet them.
  • Follow directives from the management team and contribute to the restaurant's success.
WORK ENVIRONMENT


The Shift Leader will thrive in a fast-paced setting, interacting with guests and collaborating with team members to complete assigned tasks. Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to company policies and supporting management decisions.
  • Consistently achieving work goals during each shift.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and management to resolve interpersonal issues.
  • Following all guidelines for food and cash management to minimize costs.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; current students are welcome.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Strong communication skills with team members and management.
TRANSPORTATION & ACCESSIBILITY

  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must have a reliable method of communication with supervisors and coworkers.
WORKING HOURS

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
  • This includes availability on weekends and holidays as needed.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
