Job Title: Survey Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Team Leader to join our team at Seamon, Whiteside and Assoc, Inc. in Charlotte, NC.

Job Summary

The Survey Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of surveying projects, from fieldwork to data analysis and reporting. This role requires a strong background in land surveying, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of surveyors to ensure efficient and accurate data collection
  • Oversee all aspects of field survey operations, equipment setup, and quality control measures
  • Ensure all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are followed at all times
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients for the survey division in this region
  • Address client concerns, and provide exceptional customer service throughout the project
  • Proficiency in surveying equipment (specifically Trimble equipment), TOTAL STATION, GPS, GIS and Civil3D
  • Manage survey data processing workflows
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates, and ensuring client satisfaction and updating timelines for completion
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards governing land surveying activities
  • Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Manage Surveying team budgets and lead land surveying projects from initiation to completion
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and regulations
  • Relevant knowledge of FEMA floodplain mapping and state specific surveying requirements
  • Conducting precise measurements and assessments of land/properties
Requirements
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Licensing: North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS) required
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in land survey field operations and land survey office operations
