Covenant Health (Tennessee) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at LeConte Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing routine and specialized clinical lab tests.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all routine and specialized lab tests trained for as assigned.
  • Run, maintain, and repair laboratory equipment.
  • Perform and document quality control samples in assigned work area.
  • Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments.
  • Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains according to standard formulas and procedures.
  • Answer phones and respond to physician inquiries regarding lab results.
  • Maintain required records, reports, statistics, logs, and files to comply with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform all functions of a Sr. lab assistant as required.
  • Receive or collect specimens; organize and prioritize work duties. Identify and label specimens.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards. Complete required education assignments annually. Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Requirements
  • State license or eligible. TN State license, and MLT/MT ASCP Certification.
