Covenant Health (Tennessee) is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at LeConte Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized clinical lab tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by physicians.
- Run, maintain, and repair laboratory equipment as needed.
- Perform and document quality control samples in assigned work areas.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments.
- Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains according to standard formulas and procedures.
- Answer phones and respond to physician inquiries regarding lab results.
- Maintain required records, reports, statistics, logs, and files to comply with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
- Perform all functions of a Senior Laboratory Assistant as required.
- Receive or collect specimens, organize and prioritize work duties, identify and label specimens.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required education assignments annually.
- Work towards achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- State license or eligibility to obtain a license in Tennessee.
- MLT/MT ASCP Certification.
