Detailed Job Responsibilities
As a Patient Experience Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
  1. Establishing a rapport with patients and their families to determine and coordinate nutrition needs and food preferences;
  2. Responding to complaints and concerns of patients/families and communicating identified issues to the assigned nurse or Charge Nurse;
  3. Working with Marriott Food Service to limit or resolve delays in service, communicating delays to patients and families with a face-to-face interaction, providing an estimated time of resolution;
  4. Acting as an intermediary to Marriott Food Service on behalf of patients and their families;
  5. Interacting with patients/families/customers utilizing feedback to improve and reinforce positive patient experience;
  6. Consulting, collaborating, and cooperating with colleagues, peers, supervisors, and other healthcare providers in a professional manner to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of patient care;
  7. Understanding and practicing regulatory agency standards and department/organization policies/procedures, including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA, Infection Control, Environment of Care, National Patient Safety Goals, patient care, food service policies/procedures;
  8. Ordering specialty supplies from appropriate vendors;
  9. Checking daily to ensure scheduled breakfast, lunches, and dinners are ordered appropriately from the Marriott partner restaurant;
  10. Ensuring proper timeliness of food delivery, including coffee and tea times;
  11. Maintaining adequate stock of supplies for kitchen and patient rooms;
  12. Maintaining kitchen to meet regulatory standards;
  13. Preparing and maintaining clean coffee pots and brewing fresh coffee daily and throughout the day;
  14. Daily loading/unloading of dishwashers; placing in appropriate shelving;
  15. Replenishing and serving patient meals timely and accurately;
  16. Coordinating meal pick-up and delivery with the Marriott partner restaurant;
  17. Using safe food handling practices in accordance with appropriate regulatory standards;
  18. Emptying kitchen trash cans and removing leftover items/equipment from patient rooms daily.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a High School Diploma/GED and hold ServSafe Food Handlers certification. Additionally, you should be customer-service oriented and present a professional image, proficient in the English language, able to pay attention to detail, follow procedures, and work effectively with others. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, maintain a positive attitude, and lift up to 35 lbs is also essential.
