Role Objective:
The Medical Records Assistant or an individual with equivalent clinical training is responsible for a variety of tasks within the office, ranging from patient intake to direct patient support. This role ensures efficient triage and patient flow to healthcare providers. Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical environment, the assistant provides excellent customer service, conducts initial patient assessments, aids in direct patient care, and performs routine medical procedures as per established clinical guidelines and provider instructions. We are open to training a motivated individual who aligns with our values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction and relationships.
- Remain informed about current policies and procedures.
- Gather patient histories and update medical records accordingly.
- Communicate normal test results to patients.
- Ensure cleanliness in workspaces and patient examination areas.
- Execute routine procedures following established protocols, including:
- EKGs
- Immunizations
- Ear lavages
- Sterile dressing changes
- Nebulizer treatments
- Suture removals
- Administer immunizations and therapeutic injections.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of examination room supplies.
- Adhere to safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding customer service abilities.
- Understanding of company policies and healthcare regulations.
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical training is preferred.
- Basic proficiency in computer operations.
- Familiarity with business office procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor when greeting patients and answering calls.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with providers, patients, and the public.
- Effective time management skills.
- Capable of recognizing, assessing, and resolving issues.
- Ability to maintain productivity and work independently.
Work Environment:
This role requires extended periods of sitting or standing.
