As a Construction Engineering Specialist at MZT, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of our construction initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass collaborating with the project team to oversee project management. This includes conducting site assessments, performing quantity take-offs, and estimating project costs, while ensuring adherence to construction engineering standards and quality control measures. You will maintain regular communication with clients, stakeholders, and fellow construction professionals to address any challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle. Your leadership, organizational acumen, and construction knowledge are vital for delivering projects that meet safety standards, timelines, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop a comprehensive understanding of contract documents and project goals.

· Assist in formulating project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.

· Support estimating efforts through detailed quantity take-offs.

· Help prepare thorough and accurate preconstruction submittal packages.

· Conduct site visits as necessary to evaluate project status and progress.

· Provide technical assistance and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and on-site personnel, addressing any technical inquiries or challenges.

· Ensure precise implementation on-site in accordance with project plans and specifications.

· Organize and maintain job files for efficient operations.

· Collaborate with the Superintendent and Project Manager to establish and uphold project schedules.

· Actively participate in project meetings to review plans and track progress; document meeting minutes as required.

· Collect and organize daily job reports from subcontractors.

· Assist in managing and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, including material and equipment procurement.

· Foster strong relationships with clients and trade partners.

· Ensure effective communication and coordination among internal and external stakeholders.

· Solicit pricing from trade partners and provide recommendations to the Project Team.

· Manage information flow and documentation for the Project Team.

· Ensure accurate distribution of plans and specifications to subcontractors, identifying any discrepancies.

· Oversee project accounting and maintain timely reporting to the accounting department.

· Promote safety compliance and foster a culture of safety, conducting regular inspections and addressing safety concerns.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

· A minimum of two to five years of experience supporting personnel on construction projects of increasing complexity. Relevant internships or a degree in construction/engineering or a related field can fulfill this requirement.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Previous project experience in areas such as design-build, LEED-certified projects, military construction, or municipal/public works construction.

Technical Skills

· Proficient in computer applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Familiarity with Primavera P6 is preferred.
