Position Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a WIC Dietitian, focusing on outreach and recruitment of eligible participants while promoting the benefits of the WIC program.
  • Collaborate with the WIC Clinical Assistant to manage client check-ins, appointment scheduling, and maintaining an accurate client database to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct health assessments for all participants, accurately identifying nutrition-related risks.
  • Deliver personalized nutrition counseling and referral services tailored to the needs of WIC participants.
  • Advocate for breastfeeding among WIC participants, facilitating educational classes to support breastfeeding initiation and continuation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a qualified Registered Dietitian.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a focus on Nutrition, including a minimum of 9 credit hours in nutrition-related coursework.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with a service-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to collaboration with diverse groups, including staff, volunteers, program participants, and WIC Program advocates.
