Position Overview

Salary: $26.99/Hour

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • The WIC Nutrition Consultant will play a crucial role in outreach and recruitment efforts for the WIC program, enhancing community awareness and participation.
  • Collaborate with the WIC Clinical Assistant to manage client check-ins, appointment scheduling, and maintain an accurate client database, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct health assessments for all participants, accurately identifying nutrition-related risks.
  • Deliver personalized nutrition counseling and referral services tailored to the needs of WIC participants.
  • Advocate for breastfeeding among WIC participants, facilitating educational classes to promote successful breastfeeding practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a certified Registered Dietitian.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) with a focus on Nutrition, including a minimum of 9 credit hours in nutrition courses.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently, with a strong commitment to service and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups, including staff, volunteers, program participants, and community supporters.
