Nurse Specialist

Northwest Indiana Community Action is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, promoting health and wellness, and supporting the organization's mission to improve the lives of individuals and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with outreach and recruitment of program participants, promoting the WIC program and its benefits.
- Support the WIC Clinical Assistant with client check-in, appointment scheduling, and data management.
- Conduct health measurements and assess nutrition risk for all participants.
- Provide participant-centered nutrition counseling and referral services.
- Promote breastfeeding and educate participants through facilitation of breastfeeding classes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Registered Nurse with a strong background in patient care and nutrition.
- Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) with an emphasis in Nutrition.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and program participants.
