Job Title: After School Program Lead Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic After School Program Lead Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing engaging and educational activities for school-age children in our after-school program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead daily lesson plans that promote learning and fun
  • Organize and participate in games and activities that foster socialization and teamwork
  • Provide weekly lesson plans to parents and communicate with them about their child's progress
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and arrival/departure times
  • Supervise children at all times and ensure their safety and well-being
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss individual child progress
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in a youth development-related field or current enrollment in a degree program
  • 6-12 months of experience in youth development or a related field
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
  • Ability and desire to work with school-age children
