Patient Service Representative

Job Summary: Vancouver Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Specialist to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced Call Center environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments for physicians and ancillary services, ensuring seamless coordination and communication with patients and providers.
- Handle initial triage of phone calls, providing empathetic and professional support to patients and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Verify demographic information and update patient records accurately, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Obtain referrals and prior authorizations from insurance companies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide procedural directions and answer patient inquiries, demonstrating a strong understanding of medical terminology and clinic policies.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in a medical office setting or health insurance industry preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle pressure situations and maintain tact and diplomacy.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, computers, and basic software programs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and patient satisfaction.
