Job Summary:

The Children's Village is seeking a Program Facilitator - Youth Support Services to join our team. As a Program Facilitator, you will be responsible for supporting the Lead Program Facilitator in operating a Youth Advisory Council forum and a Motivational Meeting to engage campus youth in developing structural and systemic recommendations for change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Program Facilitator in operating the Youth Advisory Council forum and Motivational Meeting
  • Help young adult participants learn to navigate systems and resources, build positive peer relationships, and instill resiliency
  • Address systemic and environmental barriers within the child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health, and special education systems
  • Collaborate with professionals to provide support services to youth
  • Maintain progress notes on youth participation

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Personal experience within the Child Welfare and/or Juvenile Justice system
  • Knowledge of navigating the educational, employment, and housing systems and resources in Westchester County
  • Basic understanding and computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office
  • Basic organizational skills, strong oral communication skills, and group facilitation skills
  • Ability to navigate the public transportation system
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of culture, race, and issues facing adolescents of color
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively use a multi-cultural approach in working with special needs youth
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with youth and staff
  • Willingness to speak publicly and participate in trainings

Working Conditions:

The Program Facilitator - Youth Support Services will work 5 hours a week and will be required to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Children's Village's policies and procedures.
