The Patient Care Coordinator delivers consistent and comprehensive care to both surgical and non-surgical patients. Provides education to patients and/or families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care as well as the treatments administered in the practice. Coordinates surgical scheduling, pre-admission testing, and acts as a liaison between patients and practice support staff. Monitors patient treatment pathways and communicates essential information to physicians to facilitate referrals and/or orders for medications and/or diagnostic tests. Maintains a caring and professional demeanor at all times while fostering personal and professional development.

+ Manages phone communications, schedules patient appointments, and triages incoming patient calls. Ensures timely return of phone inquiries.+ Prioritizes tasks effectively, maintains a consistent workflow, and follows through until completion. Utilizes sound problem-solving and decision-making skills based on established protocols.+ Clearly explains procedures, treatments, and nursing care to patients and/or families.+ Reviews patient records to confirm that all test results and correspondence are available prior to physician consultations. Secures necessary authorizations from patients' insurance providers.+ Reviews appointment schedules to ensure that patient preferences are prioritized in urgent situations.

Ensures a smooth patient flow.
Qualifications for success:

Minimum requirements:+ High School Diploma or Equivalent 0 years of experience

  • Basic Life Support Certification
    Preferred qualifications:
+ 1 year of experience in a medical office setting preferred+ Experience in surgical scheduling preferred.
