Job Summary

Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to coordinate the receipt and delivery of in-kind donations and maintain the storage warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to donation inquiries, identify useful donations, and schedule pick-up appointments.
  • Operate agency moving trucks to pick up donated furniture and household items, transport them to the warehouse, and deliver them to refugee housing.
  • Maintain and track inventory of furniture and household supplies, notifying the supervisor when inventory is low and arranging for purchases as needed.
  • Conduct pre-arrival housing safety checks and communicate any maintenance requirements to case managers and landlords.
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness of the storage unit and its contents.
  • Track the distribution of beds and purchased household items to refugee apartments and notify the supervisor of expenditures.
  • Maintain relationships with local thrift stores and discount retailers to purchase used furniture and household items when donations are insufficient.
  • Arrange for regular maintenance of agency fleet vehicles.
  • Supervise volunteers for pick-ups, apartment setups, and donation sorting.

Requirements:

  • Ability to use hand carts and furniture dollies to move items.
  • Ability to safely operate a box truck.
  • Computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Internet, as well as other equipment such as copiers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Functional fluency in one or more foreign languages is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to communicate with people who speak limited English.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality in all agency-related matters.
  • Able to demonstrate patience with clients and donors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to perform routine tasks such as collating materials and filing.
  • Possesses a valid Colorado driver's license and is able to travel throughout the agency's service areas.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Values, and Vision of Lutheran Family Services of Colorado.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
