Job Summary:

The Dietitian Specialist 1 at Loma Linda University plays a vital role in completing nutritional assessments and reassessments, collaborating with the healthcare team to implement effective strategies to improve patient outcomes. This position requires providing nutrition education to patients and family members, working in partnership with dietetic technicians, and acting as a clinical preceptor to dietetic students and/or other healthcare team members. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field is required.
  • Entry-level knowledge base with an emphasis on clinical nutrition.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality, use computer and software programs necessary for the position, troubleshoot and calibrate office equipment, and communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Ability to think critically, work independently with minimal supervision, perform basic math functions, manage multiple assignments effectively, work well under pressure, problem-solve, organize and prioritize workload, recall information with accuracy, and pay close attention to detail.
  • Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD or RDN) is required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete nutritional assessments and reassessments.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement effective strategies to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and family members.
  • Work in partnership with dietetic technicians.
  • Act as a clinical preceptor to dietetic students and/or other healthcare team members.
