Job Summary:

The Dietitian Specialist 2-TPN/VAD will play a crucial role in supporting Loma Linda University's strategic plan and mission to provide exceptional patient care. Under the supervision of the Manager-Clinical Nutrition, this individual will complete consults and nutrition assessments for patients receiving parenteral and enteral nutrition. They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement nutrition interventions and coordinate patient care. The successful candidate will provide education to patients and family members, attend patient care rounds, and participate in Performance Improvement reviews to ensure safe delivery of nutrition therapy.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete consults and nutrition assessments for patients receiving parenteral and enteral nutrition
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement nutrition interventions and coordinate patient care
  • Provide education to patients and family members on nutrition therapy
  • Attend patient care rounds and participate in Performance Improvement reviews
  • Develop and implement practice guidelines and reference materials for nutrition support
  • Precept and mentor other clinical dietitians
  • Assist with staff continuing education and develop staff competencies
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school with a Bachelor or Master's degree in nutrition-related fields
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nutrition experience
  • Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD) required
  • Board Certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) within one year of hire date
