Disaster Response Coordinator for Power Delivery

Key Responsibilities
The Disaster Response Coordinator will participate in the coordination and dissemination of reported incidents through various sources, providing situational awareness to the emergency management organization. This includes communicating in real-time to field responders and the Emergency Management Duty Officer. Key responsibilities include:
- Determining the best tools to collect, manage, analyze, model, and present situational information pertinent to emerging or active wildfires and emergency events.
- Maintaining and monitoring situations throughout the service territory using tools to analyze spatial and non-spatial information.
- Analyzing information for accuracy.
- Gathering and reporting on emergent or active wildfire reports or emergency incidents.
- Receiving and rapidly triaging and compiling information related to emergent or active wildfires or emergency events.
- Accurately documenting and maintaining records for all events, and actions taken via company tools, tracking forms, executive reports, etc.
- Providing information to the Emergency Coordination Center for planning, analysis, and assessment of emerging or active wildfires or emergencies.
- Maintaining working relationships with System Operations, Grid, Transmission and Distribution, Real Time Engineering, and other key stakeholders.
- Researching and recommending improved visualized forecast products and tools.
- Maintaining documentation of processes, guidelines, tools, and training aids required to support response efforts.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in emergency management, fire science, GIS, or a related field. Relevant experience supporting fire science, emergency management, 9-1-1 operations, or related fields is also essential. Other requirements include proficiency in personal computers, spreadsheet applications (Excel), word processing (Word), and presentation software (Power Point). Effective communication skills and the ability to work in shifts and 24/7 availability are also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with knowledge of the National Incident Management System, Incident Command System courses 100, 200, 300, and 700, and prior experience working in an Emergency Operations Center or incident management environment are preferred. Additionally, experience with electric utility operations and project/team experience prioritizing work while analyzing data quickly under stressful conditions is highly valued.
