Job Overview

The Residential Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing Direct Support Professionals (DSP) as they deliver assistance within residential environments. This position serves as a representative of Impact Community Services in various external contexts, significantly shaping public perception of the organization. Additionally, this role includes providing backup support to DSPs when necessary. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional communication abilities, a strong attention to detail, and prior experience in managing residential programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise DSPs in residential settings to ensure their thorough understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate training sessions for all DSPs.
  • Conduct regular visits to DSPs' residences and complete scheduled quality assurance checklists.
  • Monitor programs, implement necessary modifications, and ensure adherence to Individual Support Plans (ISP) and quarterly evaluations.
  • Investigate incidents involving individuals and staff, ensuring compliance with rights regulations through proper documentation.
  • Engage in discharge planning and oversee behavioral management strategies.
  • Be available on-call for various situations that may arise within Impact Community Services, including crisis emergencies and staff absences.
  • Assist in ensuring that individuals receiving services and employees comprehend their rights and address any service-related complaints.
  • In collaboration with the Service and Program Director, the Residential Coordinator will: (1) review all admission, treatment, and discharge documentation to ensure effective and ethical completion; (2) meet with individuals receiving services and/or their authorized representatives to clarify the programs and services offered; (3) provide training and support in developing ISPs, Behavior Treatment Plans (BTP), Discharge Plans, and Crisis Plans, ensuring timely implementation; (4) evaluate and support the structured program of care concerning Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), Behavioral Management Programs, and Independent Living Skills.

Qualifications

The candidate must possess strong supervisory skills, effective oral and written communication abilities, and the capacity to establish and maintain productive relationships with individuals, the community, and staff. The ability to analyze findings, identify issues, and propose solutions is essential. Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and associated physical, health, and behavioral concerns is required. A caring and positive attitude, along with experience in conducting comprehensive assessments and familiarity with documentation tools, is necessary. The Residential Coordinator must serve as a Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) and possess reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance. Successful completion of training/certification in CPR, first aid, behavior management, and medication administration is also required.
