Job Summary:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining equipment at customer facilities, investigating and resolving technical problems, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate activities related to installing equipment, investigating technical problems, and eliminating future operational difficulties.
  • Install new or modified equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Review and maintain records of performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and internal personnel for troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Inspect malfunctioning and/or damaged products, determine the source of the problem, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and conduct training on safe operation of equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees.

Requirements:

  • Experience with vacuum and/or atmosphere furnaces is required.
  • Prior heat treatment experience is preferred.
  • Electrical skills are preferred, including the ability to read electrical drawings and perform field wiring.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience is preferred.
  • Experience with database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and PLC programming is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze reports to determine trends and recommend modifications.
  • Ability to provide a communication link between the customer and company.
  • Ability to keep daily records, such as service reports, expenses, and travel schedule.

Education:

Two-year college or technical school degree, or two to four years of related experience and/or training, is required. Advanced technical education, or a combination of education and experience, will be considered.
