Job Title: Patient Service Representative

At Scripps Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team in the OB/GYN department at our Carmel Valley clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interact with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration and appointment scheduling.
  • Assign Medical Record Numbers, collect point of service payments, and manage document collection and check-out functions.
  • Respond to customer billing and payment inquiries, and effectively manage the check-in or check-out process.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, enter insurance information, and initiate referrals/authorizations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by listening to patients, taking ownership of solutions, and escalating concerns to leadership when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in computer applications, excellent mathematical skills, and ability to handle monies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of experience in customer service or healthcare/medical office environment, previous experience with EPIC, and knowledge of medical terminology and billing guidelines.
