Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist - Sponsored Programs to join our team at the SDSU Research Foundation. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of our organization.
Job Description
As a Compliance Specialist - Sponsored Programs, you will be responsible for ensuring that all sponsored programs are in compliance with relevant regulations and policies. This will involve reviewing and processing award agreements, subagreements, and prior authorizations to expend documents, as well as drafting and processing subagreements and amendments for review and signature using approved templates. You will also be responsible for verifying the completion of any SDSU compliance requirements and ensuring that all relevant compliance is in place or seeking approval to deviate from established processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Review and process award agreements, subagreements, and prior authorizations to expend documents
* Draft and process subagreements and amendments for review and signature using approved templates
* Verify the completion of any SDSU compliance requirements
* Ensure that all relevant compliance is in place or seek approval to deviate from established processes and procedures
* Assist the Director in reviewing and implementing procedures related to the processing of awards and preparation of subagreements
Qualifications
* Completion of sufficient college coursework to successfully perform the required duties of the position and two years of progressively responsible related experience. One year of full-time progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for college coursework requirement
* Two years of progressively responsible experience in an institution of higher education, research institution, or non-profit organization, or related contract review experience
* Previous experience working in sponsored programs-related compliance, award review and processing, and subagreement preparation
* Previous experience interpreting and applying regulations and requirements
* Experience using software for research administration such as Banner, Etrieve, InfoEd, or other internal award tracking systems
