Financial Services Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Associate to join our team at NYU Langone Health. In this role, you will be responsible for performing follow-up and payment analysis on non-governmental hospital claims to ensure timeliness and accuracy of payments from Managed Care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough payment analysis and follow-up on reconsiderations and appeals
Escalate trends and claim issues to management for resolution
Attend to all telephone inquiries, audits, and mail correspondence as they apply to the accounts receivable
Adhere to all PFS department policies, procedures, and HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have a High School or GED, 1-2 years of hospital billing experience or equivalent demonstrated ability, and excellent communication, detail orientation, customer service, organization, and multi-tasking skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel), are also required. Ability to train employees to perform a wide variety of billing and related clerical tasks is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with ICD coding are preferred. System experience with Epic and Assurance is also a plus.
