Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Veterinarian to join our team at Petco Total Care veterinary full-service hospitals. This role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled professional who is dedicated to delivering exceptional pet care and building strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide top-notch patient care by conducting physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and offering preventive care tailored to individual needs.
  • Utilize a problem-based approach to develop complete problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments based on test results.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with practice standards.
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory surgeries, and mass removals.
  • Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization, ensuring seamless transitions to overnight care as needed.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited school.
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License (if applicable).
  • USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to maintain a professional demeanor in emotionally charged situations.
Work Environment:

This role requires frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and direct client interaction. A significant amount of time will be spent in the veterinary hospital, working closely with colleagues and clients.

Salary Range:

$95,600.00 - $203,000.00 per year
