Veterinary Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Petco Total Care veterinary full-service hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the growth of our productive practice.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care through physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to develop complete problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments based on test results.
- Document patient observations, findings, treatments, client interactions, and diagnoses in the medical record.
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
- Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization patients and communicate effectively with referral hospitals.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located.
- Current DEA license and USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
- Must be comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries, including canine and feline spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, compassion, and professionalism.
- Able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
The estimated salary for this role is between $95,600 and $203,000 per year, depending on factors such as experience, location, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws.
