About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Department Supervisor to join our team at Jobs for Humanity. As a Retail Department Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and ensuring that our stores are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Receiving and Merchandising Standards: Ensure that all merchandise is received and processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure Associates are Processing Efficiently and Effectively: Monitor and coach associates to ensure that they are meeting productivity and sales goals.
  • Engage and Interact with All Customers: Provide excellent customer service and ensure that all customers have a positive experience in our stores.
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Store: Ensure that our stores are clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Role Model Exceptional Customer Service: Set the standard for customer service and ensure that all associates are providing excellent service to our customers.
  • Promote a Culture of Honesty and Integrity: Ensure that all associates are acting with honesty and integrity at all times.
  • Orchestrate Truck Delivery and Merchandise Processing: Ensure that all merchandise is processed and put away in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Train and Mentor Associates: Provide training and coaching to associates to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Ensure Merchandise is Properly Tagged, Hung, Secured, and Coded: Ensure that all merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded at all times.
  • Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty: Ensure that all associates are aware of the coordinator on duty and are communicating effectively with them.
  • Monitor Productivity of Team and Provide Coaching as Necessary: Monitor the productivity of the team and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
  • Organize and Rotate Back Stock: Ensure that all back stock is organized and rotated regularly to ensure that it is easily accessible.
  • Maintain and Uphold Merchandising Philosophy and Signage Standards: Ensure that all merchandising philosophy and signage standards are being met at all times.
  • Maintain Organizational, Cleanliness, and Recovery Standards for the Backroom Area: Ensure that the backroom area is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Ensure Compliance with Recycling and Hazardous Waste Programs: Ensure that all associates are aware of and are complying with recycling and hazardous waste programs.
  • Communicate with Management and Associates: Ensure that all associates are aware of and are communicating effectively with management.
  • Provide and Accept Recognition and Constructive Feedback: Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback to ensure that all associates are aware of their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Partner with Management on Associate Training Needs: Partner with management to ensure that all associates are receiving the training they need to succeed in their roles.
  • Ensure Adherence to All Labor Laws, Policies, and Procedures: Ensure that all associates are aware of and are adhering to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote Credit and Loyalty Programs: Ensure that all associates are aware of and are promoting credit and loyalty programs.
  • Support and Participate in Store Shrink Reduction Goals and Programs: Ensure that all associates are aware of and are supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
  • Promote Safety Awareness and Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure that all associates are aware of and are promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment at all times.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Able to Work a Flexible Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Superior Communication and Organizational Skills: Must have superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of Multi-Tasking: Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Able to Respond Appropriately to Changes in Direction or Unexpected Situations: Must be able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Team Player: Must be a team player and work effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Capable of Lifting Heavy Objects: Must be able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to Train Others: Must be able to train others and provide coaching and feedback.
  • 1 Year Retail and 6 Months of Leadership Experience: Must have at least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Compensation:

Starting pay range of $13.00 to $13.50 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
