Nexus Recovery Center seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day facilities, janitorial, maintenance, transportation, and security operations. This key role will be responsible for ensuring the safety and maintenance of our campus, as well as supervising and managing staff and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee facilities operations, including custodial services, facility maintenance, and transportation.
  • Supervise and manage staff, including custodial, maintenance, security, and transportation team members.
  • Monitor and assign facility tickets, and coordinate with Nexus leadership and teams to fulfill facility needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees, project owners, and facilities vendors.
  • Facilitate internal and external meetings as needed with and for staff members.
  • Ensure the safety of the physical plant and a safe, clean, and livable environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Supervise and manage agency drivers and ensure that agency vehicles are maintained and driven in a safe and clean manner.
  • Develop and oversee campus and vehicle maintenance standards and routines.
  • Develop, monitor, and inform staff and clients of facility disaster plans.
  • Work cross-functionally to formulate business process improvements to increase efficiencies for the Operations Department.
  • Coordinate all Operations Department employees' work schedules to ensure adequate coverage to meet client needs.
  • Arrange and/or conduct periodic staff training, including fire drills, as required by federal and state regulations.
  • Respond to complaints related to facility maintenance, custodial issues, and vehicle operations.
  • Review expenditures for the areas under his supervision to ensure they are within budget limitations established by the Chief Financial Officer and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure services delivered are in line with the Nexus Mission and Values.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years work experience in management and/or project management.
  • Strong knowledge in one or all of the following areas: building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, vehicle maintenance, grounds keeping, or similar experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of vendors, consumers, and/or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
