Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a pivotal role in the New Product Introduction of our advanced Star Tracker technology. This position requires collaboration with the engineering teams of our clients to evaluate the readiness levels of our technology and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) of our star tracker systems.
  • Develop and oversee a strategic plan to ensure that TRL and MRL align with project specifications and timelines.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and experiments to validate manufacturing and testing methodologies, ensuring optimal performance, quality, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to establish and refine quality standards for inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Assess and address complex in-process rejections and trends, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve technical manufacturing challenges, providing essential support to facilitate project advancement.
  • Engage with customers, suppliers, and various departments within the organization to ensure streamlined processes for the successful production and quality assurance of the star tracker.
  • Identify potential risks and propose effective strategies for mitigation.
  • Prepare and deliver regular updates on project status and milestones, including Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
Qualifications

Essential Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in electronic product development, particularly within aerospace sectors.
  • Proficient in compliance with manufacturing qualification processes.
  • Experience in coordinating and collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams.
  • Expertise in process improvement and mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to engage with diverse teams.
  • Must be a US citizen.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with DOD Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) and Technology Readiness Assessments (TRA).
  • Ability to self-manage with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Adaptable and composed under pressure.
  • Self-motivated individual who thrives both independently and in team settings.
