Role Summary:

The Radar Mechanical Design Department is at the forefront of mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most advanced land-based and shipboard radar systems globally. This includes the design of phased array radar systems, hardware integration, electronic modules, and associated power and cooling systems.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electronics Packaging Engineer to lead our mechanical team in the design, development, and construction of electronic modules and assemblies.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and extensive experience in hardware design, integration, engineering analysis, and requirements alignment. Collaboration with mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as operations, supply chain, systems, test engineering, program offices, and clients, will be essential.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize strong mechanical hardware design expertise to create ruggedized electronics packaging solutions.
  • Develop technical solutions addressing complex challenges throughout the product lifecycle, including proposal, design, manufacturing, integration, and testing of electronics and module packaging for various military programs.
  • Oversee the definition of mechanical outlines, construction details, connector specifications, and mechanical and assembly drawings, ensuring compliance with electrical layout and final technical data packages.
  • Maintain familiarity with CREO and relevant drawing standards.
  • Ensure adherence to cost, schedule, quality, and performance metrics for the final product.
  • Act as a technical conscience, ensuring that products and processes meet established standards and requirements.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising significant latitude in determining technical objectives.
  • Engage frequently with senior personnel and external clients on significant technical matters, often requiring inter-organizational coordination.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Proven experience in electronic packaging and hardware design for military or commercial applications.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, with U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ANSI drawing standards and structural analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes for CCAs, metal housings, and sheet metal.
  • Strong technical aptitude and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
