Position Overview:

Our firm is in search of a dynamic and experienced Permanent Attorney with expertise in Banking & Finance, particularly focusing on Low Income Housing. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in our community.

The ideal candidate will deliver legal advice and services in banking and finance law, with a specific emphasis on low-income housing tax credits and commercial finance law.

This position offers a unique combination of complex legal work and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance to clients in the banking and finance sectors, with a specific focus on low-income housing.
  • Interpret and apply laws, court rulings, and other legal authorities to prepare legal opinions, briefs, and cases.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate intricate loan documents, agreements, and contracts related to banking, finance, and low-income housing projects.
  • Advise on the structuring, formation, and operation of various affordable housing transactions, including those involving low-income housing tax credits.
  • Represent clients in regulatory matters and disputes related to banking and finance law.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on a wide array of banking and finance issues.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services to our clients.
  • Stay informed on current laws, regulations, and industry trends in banking and finance law and low-income housing.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in banking and finance law, focusing on low-income housing tax credits and commercial finance law.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state laws and regulations related to banking and finance, and low-income housing.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to serving low-income communities and advancing affordable housing initiatives.
