Position Overview

The Ford Asset Training Coordinator plays a crucial role in crafting and delivering accredited curriculum tailored for college and automotive manufacturers within a classroom and laboratory setting. This position requires adherence to training standards and credentialing while also supporting student recruitment and placement in relevant work-based learning opportunities.

Compensation Structure

Salary placement is determined based on education and experience, falling within Salary Schedule D1 IC-IV ($38,924 - $87,206). Summer appointments are contingent on enrollment, with compensation under Salary Schedule D1 ($15,105 - $33,890). The total annual salary potential, including summer appointments, ranges from $54,029 to $121,096.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  1. Deliver 30-35 contact hours or 15-16 credit hours per semester, or a combination of credit and non-credit offerings.
  2. Maintain regular attendance and availability for teaching assignments.
  3. Conduct off-campus classes as needed, including day, evening, and weekend sessions.
  4. Develop and update course syllabi in alignment with institutional guidelines.
  5. Design and implement instructional programs that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  6. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and activities that are conducive to student learning.
  7. Assess and refine Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for the instructional area.
  8. Stay informed about content, curriculum, and instructional methods relevant to the specialty.
  9. Prepare course offerings for each semester.
  10. Engage in student recruitment and provide guidance throughout their educational journey.
  11. Facilitate work-based learning experiences for students.
  12. Collaborate with an Advisory Committee as per established guidelines.
  13. Manage the program budget effectively.
  14. Ensure the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.
  15. Work with other programs to achieve divisional objectives.
  16. Participate in the review and revision of courses in collaboration with faculty and administrative leadership.
  17. Engage in student orientation activities.
  18. Contribute to divisional and institutional committees as assigned.
  19. Coordinate with the college's ADA coordinator to provide necessary accommodations for students.
  20. Hold regular office hours for student consultations.
  21. Exhibit mastery in the teaching discipline.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as an automotive technician.
  • Proficiency in computer usage.

Required Certifications:

  • ASE Master and L1 Certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Physical Requirements

The role involves working primarily in a shop environment, with exposure to various conditions. Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting moderate to heavy weights.
