Key Responsibilities

Procurement and Vendor Management:

  • Assess and select suppliers for thermoforming packaging machinery and automation equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a capital expenditure schedule, including return on investment assessments.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with vendors to secure favorable agreements.
  • Oversee the procurement cycle from initial request to final delivery, ensuring timely equipment acquisition.

Maintenance and Equipment Management:

  • Establish and execute preventive maintenance protocols for packaging machinery.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules and inspections with external facilities.
  • Manage troubleshooting and repair efforts to minimize operational downtime.
  • Provide technical assistance to external staff regarding machinery operation and maintenance.

Performance Evaluation and Enhancement:

  • Track performance metrics of packaging equipment to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to boost efficiency, minimize waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and promote continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and safety protocols in all packaging operations.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing engineering projects focused on packaging machinery.
  • Strong technical knowledge in the operation and maintenance of packaging automation systems.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to foster effective vendor relationships.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards relevant to packaging operations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for equipment commissioning.

Position Details

Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 plus annual bonus
