Job Title: Field Engineer Technician

Sev1Tech is seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer Technician to provide IT support services to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) facilities and sites throughout the Continental United States (CONUS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy to DHS facilities to provide IT technical support services
  • Determine the nature of a service outage and initiate response activity to restore service
  • Assess whether an outage is due to a commercial circuit failure or internal failure at a facility
  • Identify failed network or system components and restore or replace them as required
  • Escalate issues requiring additional support
  • Collaborate with customers, team leads, and vendors to resolve issues
  • Effectively manage time to respond to service calls
  • Complete intermediate installations and perform system test procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that cannot be solved remotely
  • Perform smaller scale moves, adds, or changes of clients' equipment
Requirements:
  • BA or BS degree, or High School degree with four years of experience in IT technical support for federal customers
  • Experience responding to on-call requests
  • Experience deploying to customer locations and facilities within pre-agreed time-frames
  • Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and desktop computing devices
  • Experience documenting trouble-shooting activities and results
  • Effective communication with customers and managers throughout the problem-solving process
