Field Service Engineer Responsibilities

  • Conducts on-site maintenance and repair of semiconductor manufacturing machinery.
  • Diagnoses and resolves equipment malfunctions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology preferred; Associate's Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field is acceptable.
  • Experience in electrical or mechanical roles, or military experience, may substitute for formal education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Military experience is often beneficial in these positions.
  • Strong customer interaction skills are essential.
  • Mechanical skills and proficiency with tools are necessary.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical issues related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of company equipment and protocols is required.

Physical Requirements:

Job functions are frequently performed in confined spaces within clean room environments, often requiring awkward postures and working at heights. Candidates must possess mechanical skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 35 pounds. Tasks may involve bending, stooping, crawling, or climbing. Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols is necessary when dealing with hazardous materials or conditions such as chemicals, electrical currents, high voltage, moving parts, or radiation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel requirements vary by team, with options for 0-100% travel available, often accompanied by additional financial incentives.
