Job Summary

This position provides high-quality, responsive caregiving and educational experiences to enhance school readiness that comply with the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education requirements and Head Start Performance Standards in an Early Head Start setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nurturing and engaging environments for infants and toddlers to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national standards for early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective program that meets the needs of all children and families.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to share progress and involve them in their child's education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices and research-based methods in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Minimum: Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) OR a state awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development or baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with focus on infant and toddler development.
  • Degree(s) must be from an accredited college recognized by the NC Department of Child Development and Early Education.
  • Two years of infant/toddler teaching experience or two years within a NC licensed 5-star child care facility/program. Early Head Start/Head Start experience preferred.
