Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Field Supervisor to join our team at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of subcontractors performing work at our facility, ensuring that all safety requirements are observed, and working with the Project Manager to minimize disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Construction Activities: Provide oversight and supervision of construction projects, ensuring that all necessary permits and approvals are in place.
  • Manage Subcontractors: Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, including scheduling training, badging, and ensuring initial conditions and administrative requirements are met.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety requirements are observed, and work with the Project Manager to minimize disruption to business operations.
  • Support Maintenance Shops: Assist with maintenance shop activities as needed, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of construction projects, including training records and site access notifications.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Education or Equivalent.
  • Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in managing construction projects, including planning, execution, and coordination of contractors.
  • Skills: Familiarity with typical building trades, including carpentry, framing, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and roofing. Computer skills, including Google email and construction management software. Ability to effectively read and interpret project construction drawings.
  • Certifications: OSHA Construction certifications desired.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and Outdoor Work: Work will be performed indoors and outdoors, with a predominance of day shift work, but with occasional off-hours (evening, weekends) to accommodate specific project or operational needs.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift fifty pounds (50 pounds). Ability to work in confined spaces, from elevated platforms, as well as, scaffolding and ladders in awkward positions and locations. Ability to obtain certification for the use of a respirator mask.
