As an Authorization Coordination Specialist at GTECH Corporation, you will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers and reviewers with the management of prior authorization requests for post-acute care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently enter authorization requests into Care Management systems.
- Utilize embedded rules and algorithms within the care management system to facilitate administrative approvals of prior authorization requests.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary discharge plans, including the Notice of Non-Medical Coverage and durable medical equipment, essential for effective discharge planning.
- Support the scheduling of physician-to-physician consultations as needed.
- Assist in the appeal processes for CMS-designated Quality Improvement Organization appeals, ensuring all appeal activities are accurately logged.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of college education.
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in roles such as medical assistant, care technician, or support staff in post-acute care or home health care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with post-acute care functions and discharge readiness activities may be advantageous for certain positions.
