Faculty Transfusion Medicine and Patient Blood Management Physician

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA is seeking an outstanding faculty member with training and experience in transfusion medicine and patient blood management. The successful candidate will have an MD/DO (or equivalent) with primary board certification from either the American Board of Pathology (ABPath) or another American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board, and be board certified or board eligible in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
Responsibilities:- Provide clinical consultations across UCLA Health, including high complexity in-patient care at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and Santa Monica UCLA Orthopaedic Hospital.
- Offer education and training to physicians regarding test utilization and interpretation.
- Engage in quality assurance activities, including those related to accreditation.
- Participate in the educational mission of the department, including teaching residents, fellows, and medical school students.
- MD/DO (or equivalent) with primary board certification from either the American Board of Pathology (ABPath) or another American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board.
- Board certified or board eligible in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
- Eligibility for or current licensure in the state of California.
- Demonstrated experience in transfusion medicine and patient blood management/lab stewardship.
- Demonstrated interest in coagulation/thromboelastometry.
- Record of academic achievement through independent research and scholarly publications.
