About this Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman to join our team at Carrier, a leading global provider of healthy, safe, and sustainable building and cold chain solutions. As a Journeyman, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot: Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating and cooling systems, and make recommendations for repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform Regular Maintenance: Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Install and Repair Equipment: Install, replace, or repair equipment, including thermostatic controls, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts, and low- and high-pressure liquid lines.
  • Assemble and Install Ductwork: Assemble and install metal ductwork to ensure proper airflow and system performance.
  • Plan and Design Installations: Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems to meet customer needs and specifications.
  • Provide Estimates and Recommendations: Provide estimates of materials required for repairs and maintenance, and make recommendations for system upgrades and improvements.
  • Repair and Replace Damaged Parts: Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment to ensure system performance and safety.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints and Regulations: Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams, as well as City, State, and EPA regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Establish and Maintain Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Safely Operate Company Vehicles and Equipment: Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe work practices and minimize risk.
  • Recognize and Mitigate Safety Hazards: Recognize risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, and implement appropriate controls to ensure safe work practices.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ Years of Practical Experience: 5+ years of practical working experience in the HVAC industry is required.
  • Lifting and Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50lbs or more, and stand, crawl, sit, and squat for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Understanding of Building Automation Controls: A basic understanding of building automation controls is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce and ServiceMax: Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax is a plus.
