Job Summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Chief Construction Inspector - Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction engineering and inspection team, you will be responsible for performing construction engineering and inspection duties for various projects, including those for the Connecticut Department of Transportation (Conn DOT) and Federal-Local Town/City projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform construction engineering and inspection duties in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Roads, Bridges and Incidental Construction Form 818.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations concerning construction issues and project progress.
  • Develop and maintain project records, including daily reports, quantity and engineering computations, and plan and specification interpretations.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and government officials, to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of transportation facility, highway, and bridge construction materials, methods, and procedures.
  • Ability to write detailed reports and perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Conn DOT Standard Specifications for Roads, Bridges and Incidental Construction Form 818, CTDOT Construction Manual, Materials Testing Manual, and Site Manager software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACI, ATSSA, and NETTCP certifications.
  • AASHTOWare Project experience.
