About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical HVAC Designer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical HVAC systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical HVAC systems, including duct layout, HVAC support design, and equipment layout drawings
  • Utilize Hexagons SmartPlant S3D or Bentley Open Buildings Designer modeling software to generate mechanical HVAC design deliverables, BOMs, and commodity lists
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate design deliverables
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of HVAC flow diagrams and industry standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and engineers
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical plant design, with a focus on HVAC systems
  • Proficiency in design software tools, including SmartPlant S3D and Bentley Open Buildings Designer
  • Strong understanding of HVAC flow diagrams and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
