About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our HVAC Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative HVAC systems for laboratory and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop HVAC systems, including ventilation systems, control room HVAC, laboratory HVAC, chilled water system design, and heating system design.
  • Perform design calculations and develop detailed system designs.
  • Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment and prepare engineering studies.
  • Provide support to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design.
  • Assist senior engineers with reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
  • Five or more years of relevant HVAC system, ventilation systems, heating systems, and chilled water system design experience for laboratory and/or industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP.
  • Ability to create design flow diagrams, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Prior knowledge of relevant codes and standards applicable to HVAC and ventilation systems.
