Job Summary:

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, DE. As a key member of our HVAC Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing HVAC systems for laboratory and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop HVAC systems for laboratory and industrial facilities, including commercial/industrial ventilation systems, control room HVAC, laboratory HVAC, chilled water system design, and heating system design.
  • Perform design calculations and develop detailed system design, including creating design flow diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment and prepare engineering studies.
  • Provide support to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design.
  • Assist senior engineers with reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and may present findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE and current HVAC industry codes and standards.

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
  • Five or more years of relevant HVAC system, ventilation systems, heating systems, and chilled water system design experience for laboratory and/or industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP.
  • Ability to create design flow diagrams, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Prior knowledge of relevant codes and standards applicable to HVAC and ventilation system.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AutoCAD.
  • CADME.
  • MicroStation.
  • PE license.
  • ASHRAE Membership.
