Research Scientist Position at Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center

At the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our Bioinformatics Shared Resource team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the development of bioinformatics infrastructure, providing support for experimental design and data analysis in cancer research, and fostering collaboration with researchers to accelerate cancer research endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain bioinformatics infrastructure to support cancer research
  • Provide computational and statistical support for experimental design and data analysis
  • Conduct large-scale analysis of biological data in relevant areas
  • Foster collaboration with researchers to accelerate cancer research endeavors
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Statistics, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics data analysis
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, with a focus on bioinformatics applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with machine learning and AI algorithms, particularly in the context of bioinformatics
  • Proficiency in large-scale omics data analysis and integration techniques
  • Proven ability to integrate and analyze multi-omics and clinical datasets effectively
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
