Mission or Goal of Unit: Our multidisciplinary research team focuses on translational, clinical, and implementation science in Sickle Cell Disease. We strive to generate new knowledge and improve patient outcomes.

Chief Purpose of this position: We seek a mid-career behavioral research scientist to join our team and contribute to our leading program in biopsychosocial translational, clinical, and implementation science in sickle cell disease. The selected candidate will collaborate with and be mentored by experienced professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers, in the Adult Sickle Cell Medical Home and Pediatric Sickle Cell Program.

Position Responsibilities: Research | The successful candidate will be responsible for submitting and executing federal, foundation, and other research proposals, generating new knowledge, and working with diverse and disenfranchised adult patients with Sickle Cell Disease.

Required Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent terminal degree Demonstrated postdoctoral research training Commitment to a career in sickle cell research Experience working with diverse and disenfranchised communities Must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU Preferred Qualifications:
Credentials to deliver clinical psychology counseling and therapy Teaching experience with graduate students and post-doctoral students
