Job Summary:
This role involves delivering prompt, precise, and professional nursing care to patients and families utilizing the Infusion Services at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to assess individual patient needs and deliver necessary services.
- Conduct admission assessments in accordance with unit policies, leveraging medical history, effective communication, and physical evaluations.
- Accurately identify nursing diagnoses and collaborative issues to determine suitable interventions within established care standards.
- Manage patient care responsibilities by efficiently organizing workload and adapting to environmental changes.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, colleagues, healthcare team members, and ancillary departments to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Perform assessments and maintenance of central lines, PICC lines, Port-a-caths, and Groshong catheters, including flushes and blood draws as per established protocols.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives to evaluate and enhance patient care.
- Foster an environment that promotes individual growth and elevates professional practice.
- Participate in professional development activities to uphold accountability for personal nursing practice.
- Contribute to staff meetings, committees, and special projects, actively addressing the needs of Grand Itasca Outpatient Care Services and Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital.
- Assist with patient care, assessments, and education as necessary, including IV therapy and chemotherapy administration according to safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure in the State of Minnesota.
- BLS Certification is mandatory.
- ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card or the ability to obtain within six months is required; ONC Certification is preferred.
- Proven clinical competence in delivering direct patient care and education to patients and families.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in infusion therapy is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission, and values.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is expected.
